First Selectman Marpe: Westport to Face Future Headwinds
Marpe presented an informal state of the union this week at a meeting of the Westport Rotary Club, according to a report.

WESTPORT, CT — In the coming years, Westport could face increasing economic headwinds as Connecticut as a whole continues to struggle financially, stated First Selectman Jim Marpe this week, according to Westport Now.
Marpe was speaking at a meeting of the Westport Rotary Club, and he said that while the town is the envy of many in the state, Westport has not fully recovered from the most recent recession.
At the state level, Connecticut's coffers are dwindling, which led Westport to receive $2 million less this year from Hartford, Marpe said. Such continued shortfalls will eventually impact Westport, among a host of other issues.
