Former Westport Immigration Attorney Arrested On Larceny Charges
Judith Sporn was arrested Thursday by Stamford police.
STAMFORD, CT — Judith Sporn, a former Westport immigration attorney, was arrested by Stamford police on Thursday, accused of stealing more than $160,000 from clients, writes The Hour.
Sporn, who had her law license temporarily suspended in 2015, was charged with two counts of first-degree larceny, and she is being held in lieu of bail of $550,000. Her attorney, Daniel Schwartz, is scheduled to argue for a bail reduction on Tuesday.
Stamford police said Sporn is accused of stealing the money from 80 clients, and she additionally is accused of failing to pay a $43,000 settlement to another client.

Sporn, 69, has been practicing law since 1982. Her license was suspended after she was accused of providing inadequate legal services to two former clients who ended up being detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement for several months.
