Former Westport Resident Noah Witke, Staples HS Grad, Dies After Falling From Harlem Building: Police

The medical examiner's office is investigating the death to determine if Witke was intoxicated.

HARLEM, NY — A theater young actor died early Sunday morning after falling from the roof of his apartment building in West Harlem.

Noah Witke, 25, was found suffering from trauma to the head in front of his building on the 500 block of West 134th Street around 5:08 a.m., police told Patch. Witke was unconscious and unresponsive when first responders arrived, and was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

The medical examiner's office is still investigating the cause of death and whether Witke was intoxicated at the time of the fall.

Witke was a 2009 graduate from Staples High School in Westport, and is being remembered as someone who was "so thoughtful of other people," reports the 06880 blog of Westport columnist Dan Woog.

Many of Witke's friends and fellow actors took to social media to mourn his death.
