Tonight, Saturday July 13, Westport Community Theatre presents a one-act play festival at 8:00 PM – free to the public. For the sixth straight year, Westport Community Theatre thanks theatregoers with a popular summer festival of new one-act plays that are FREE – no reservations, no admission. The theme this year is "Summer 2013: Superstition," debuting five one-act plays written by playwrights throughout the U.S. Very popular in past seasons, it’s a great night of new, contemporary theatre; running time is approximately 80 minutes, so it makes a perfect ending – or beginning – of a summer evening. Audience members have an opportunity to vote for their favorite one-act play – the winner will appear at the Stratford Festival, July 31 - August 4! Refreshments afterwards as the votes are tallied and the winner announced.
Plays include "Stones" by Mark Cornell, "What A Fool Believes" by Michelle T. Johnson, "A Home for Mason" by Fred Roberts, "The Basic 7" by Mark Troy and "Subtlety" by Michael Weems.
