Home Health Aide Made Unauthorized Credit Card Charges In Westport: PD

The suspect is accused of ringing up more than $1,000 in unauthorized charges on a former client's credit card, according to Westport cops.

WESTPORT, CT — A 20-year-old Bridgeport woman, who police said was employed as a home health aide in Westport, was arrested last week on larceny and illegal credit card use charges, after authorities accused her of making several unauthorized charges to a former client's credit card.

Tylette Monique Jabobs turned herself in at Westport Police Headquarters on March 29, and was charged with:

  • Second-degree larceny
  • Illegal use of a credit card
  • Receiving goods obtained by illegal use of credit card

According to Westport police, a complaint was filed last October from a local resident that "an unknown person had made several unauthorized charges to their credit card in excess of $1,000."

"The complainant further stated there were several home health aides in the home and suspected that one of the aides may be responsible," said Lt. Eric Woods in a statement.

Jacobs, who had been one of the aides, was developed as a suspect, and police obtained search warrants for accounts where charges were made that allegedly implicated her, according to police.

Additional details on how much was charged, and where, were not disclosed.

Jacobs was released after posting bond on bail of $50,000, and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Monday.
