Independent Film in Production in Westport
Local journalist and filmmaker Jarret Liotta is shooting scenes for the dark comedy, "Home Movie," in town this weekend.

Westport, CT - More than 20 actors will be on location Saturday at Harding Funeral Home in Westport to shoot scenes for "Home Movie," an independent dark comedy film being produced by local writer and filmmaker Jarret Liotta.
The low-budget film, a labor of love involving many individuals and businesses in the Westport community, already has shot scenes at Gold’s Delicatessen, 323 Main restaurant, and at various exterior locations in town.
"'Home Movie' is the story of a young woman called home to her suburban community by the sudden death of her father," wrote Liotta in a statement. "However, she comes to suspect her mother may have actually killed him."

Westport actress Markley Rizzi plays the lead role, and Liotta, a Westport native, is directing the script he wrote. He has enlisted professional actors from Connecticut and New York for the project, and he says support has come from a number of local residents, who have "expressed strong belief in this unique story."
