Man Accused Of Stealing $5,000 Worth Of Cigarettes: Westport PD

Police said a Trumbull man is accused of stealing more than $5,000 worth of cigarettes and causing damage at a Wesport gas station.

WESTPORT, CT — Police said a Trumbull man is accused of stealing more than $5,000 worth of cigarettes from a Wesport gas station in January. According to a press release, police said officers responded to Riverside Sunoco on Jan. 4 at approximately 5:30 a.m. on a report of a burglary after a fuel delivery driver observed forced entry to the door of the business.

According to police, the suspect stole more than $5,000 worth of cigarettes and caused over $1,400 in damage to the cash register and door.

Police said the suspect was later identified as Christopher Dahlinger, 27, of Trumbull. An arrest warrant application for the accused was submitted and later approved.

Police said Dahlinger was arrested Wednesday, March 27 at Norwalk Superior Court on the outstanding warrant. He was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and first-degree criminal mischief, police said.
