Minute Maid Products Recalled In Connecticut
Beverage products distributed in Connecticut and seven other states were recalled because they may contain metal bolts and washers.

CONNECTICUT — If you’ve stocked up on Minute Maid products for the holidays or have just a few spare bottles of these beverages on hand, check the labels to make sure they aren’t among products recalled in Connecticut because they may contain metal bolts and washers.
The affected juice products were distributed in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York, North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, Maine and New Jersey, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The recalled Minute Maid products, first reported by Food Safety News, are:

- Berry Punch: Date codes Jan0422 NP and Jan0522 NP, Batch 0010323455 and 0010259344 (recall F-0276-2022)
- Strawberry Lemonade: Date code: Jan0322 NP, Batch: 0010259346 (recall F-0277-2022)
- Fruit Punch: Date Code: JAN0522 NP Batch: 0010323454 (recall F-0278-2022)
All of the products recalled by the company have 2022 expiration dates. Customers may seek a refund at the place of purchase or simply throw them away.
Coca-Cola spokesperson Ann L. Moore told USA Today that the FDA registered the recall as a Class II incident; that means exposure to the contaminating product may cause temporary or medically reversible health problems.

The FDA said the risk of an adverse reaction is remote in such recalls but that people who bought the products should still exercise caution.
Editor's Note: A previous version of this story stated Coca-Cola and Sprite products had been part of the recall in Connecticut. A Coca-Cola spokesperson has since reached out to Patch to clarify that only the Minute Maid recall affects Connecticut and the Coke and Sprite recall was only in some southeastern states.
