WESTPORT, CT — A compromise proposal for the new Long Lots School in Westport will remove a planned baseball/softball field, and move the Community Gardens a short distance from its current location, reported Westport Journal.

The new proposal was reviewed Monday by the town's Planning and Zoning Commission, and although the final vote to endorse the plan was unanimous, tensions reportedly ran high at times during the lengthy hearing.

Under the new proposal, the new school will be in the same planned spot, the soccer field will remain, and the gardens will be reshaped and moved to the left of the soccer field, Westport News reported.
