Northbound Merritt Exit 41 On & Off Ramps Closed for Paving Friday Night

On and off ramps on Route 15, Merritt Parkway, northbound Exit 41 in Westport will be temporarily closed on Friday night, June 6, 2014.

An announcement from the Westport First Selectman's Office:

The Westport Selectman’s Office has been notified that the on and off ramps on Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) Northbound Exit 41 in Westport, Connecticut, will be temporarily closed on Friday night, June 6, 2014, in order to repave the ramps.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday evening into Saturday morning.

The re-pavement project at Exit 41 is under way as part of current construction improvements to the northbound Exit 41 ramps, signalization improvements and the widening of the connector road.

Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 15 Northbound Exit 41 (Route 33) off and on ramps in Westport and will require a detour to be implemented while work is being performed. Motorists will use the following routes during the detour: Exit 42 northbound to the on ramp Exit 42 southbound to Exit 41 southbound.

During this timeframe, motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. It is the intent to have construction complete and the exit ramps re-opened as quickly as possible.
