NY Man Tried to Scam $4,800 from Westport Bank: Cops
The suspect, a 62-year-old New York City man, was arrested July 26.

WESTPORT, CT — A 62-year-old New York City man was arrested Tuesday, July 26, for allegedly trying to fraudulently withdraw $4,800 from a Chase Bank account that was not his, according to Westport police.
The incident began just before 1 p.m. when officers were called to the Chase branch, located at 1090 Post Road East, about the attempted withdrawal by Roger Harris.
"Bank employees noticed the signature Harris gave did not match that of the victim and he could not answer their security questions," said police in a statement. "Harris also had a fraudulent credit card and fraudulent driver’s license with the victim’s information."

Harris was charged with Criminal Impersonation, Unlawful Reproduction Credit Card, Forgery 3rd degree, Identity Theft 3rd degree, and Attempt to Commit Larceny 3rd degree. He was held in lieu of a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Aug. 4.
