Overturned Vehicle Delays Traffic on Merritt Parkway in Westport

WESTPORT, CT - An overturned vehicle on the Merritt Parkway in Westport Tuesday snarled rush hour traffic, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The crash occurred at about 6 p.m. southbound between exits 44 and 42. Whether any injuries were reported was not immediately available.

The right lane was temporarily closed while the vehicle was removed and state police investigated.

DOT officials expected the closure to last for about an hour, but traffic could remain impacted for a longer period.
