Officers will target speeding, distracted driving, and illegal passing of school buses while sharing detailed safety tips for motorists, students, and parents to keep children safe around bus stops and school routes.

Staples High School Among Top 5 In CT: U.S. News & World Report (patch.com) — Staples High School in Westport has been ranked the fifth-best public high school in Connecticut and 270th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report's 2026-27 list, based on data from the 2023-24 school year. The ranking highlights Staples' strong college readiness and state assessment proficiency, along with performance for underserved students and participation in AP and IB exams.

Ohio Man Arrested On Stalking Charge In Westport: Police (patch.com) — Westport police arrested a 31-year-old Ohio man this week on charges including first-degree stalking and violating a restraining order after he allegedly traveled to town and visited a local business tied to his reported victim. Authorities say he was held on $250,000 bail and scheduled for arraignment in Stamford Superior Court, underscoring ongoing enforcement of protective orders.

Cruel Summer concert at Playhouse to feature chart-topping tunes (westportjournal.com) — Pop fans can catch "Cruel Summer: The Playhouse Playlist" at Westport Country Playhouse on Aug. 28, featuring hits by Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter and more.
