Paul Newman to Appear on Forever Stamp
Newman lived in Westport and was a renowned philanthropist in the area and beyond.
Famous actor turned philanthropist Paul Newman will appear on United States Postal Service Forever Stamps in the future.
The service announced that the stamps will go on sale later in 2015. They will come in sheets of 20 stamps.
The stamp was designed by Derry Noyes and the photograph was done by Steve Schapiro in 1980.

Newman starred in many critically-acclaimed movies including Cool Hand Luke, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Color of Money.
He co-founded Newman’s Own food brand, which has donated more than $430 million to charity. The company as created along with Westport neighbor A.E. Hotchner and first started out as a joke, according to his obituary.

and his SeriousFun Children’s Network has helped more than 600,000 children across the world, according to USPS.
One of the SeriousFun camps is The Hole in the Wall Gang camp located in Ashford, Conn.
Newman was also a race car enthusiast and his teams place fifth in the 1977 Daytona race and second in the Le Mans race in 1979, according to his obituary.
