Popular CT News Anchor Gives Birth To Baby Boy

It's a boy for WTNH-TV anchor Laura Hutchinson, who delivered a new baby over the weekend, her station announced on the air. See the video below.

Baby Jack Austin entered the world just after noon on Sunday at 7 pounds, 14 ounces, and he, his mother and father, Dan, are doing well.

"Congratulations to Laura and Dan!" wrote co-worker Stephanie Simoni. "Welcome to the world, Jack. You have some amazing parents. Lucky little boy."

Sarah Cody, another of Hutchinson's co-workers, echoed those sentiments. "So excited to announce this blessed news! Congrats to [Laura] and her husband, Dan, on the birth of Baby Jack!"

Jack is just one of a host of babies born — or soon to be born — to television news personalities around the state over the past two years.

Fox61's Maggie Slysz is scheduled to give birth to a girl in the near future.

Also NBC Connecticut's Heidi Voight gave birth to twins in 2018, and former NBC Connecticut reporter Hanna Mordoh also recently had a baby.
