Premiere Date Set for Westport-Based Sitcom 'American Housewife'

The show stars Katy Mixon,​ best-known for her role on "Mike and Molly."

WESTPORT, CT — "American Housewife," the new comedy set in Westport, will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 8:30 p.m. on ABC, the network announced.

The show stars Katy Mixon, a veteran of the show "Mike and Molly," as a "confident, unapologetic wife and mother of three, [who] raises her flawed family in the wealthy town of Westport, Connecticut, filled with 'perfect' mommies and their 'perfect' offspring."

In addition to Mixon as the character Katie Otto, the show also stars Diedrich Bader as Jeff Otto, Meg Donnelly as Taylor, Daniel DiMaggio as Harrison, Julia Butters as Anna-Kat, Carly Hughes as Angela and Ali Wong as Doris, according to the network.

Earlier this year, the show received some retooling when producers dropped its original title, "The Second Fattest Housewife in Westport," and opted for "American Housewife."
