Rep. Himes Visits Westport Businesses for Small Business Week

Congressman Jim Himes visited three local businesses Wednesday to celebrate National small Business Week.

“Our small businesses are creating two out of every three net jobs in this country,” he said. “Places like Saugatuck Sweets, Craft Butchery and DownUnder are growing our economy while supporting the communities they operate in. In Connecticut, especially, they help give our cities and towns the tight-knit feel we cherish. I thank them for having me today to visit and thank and support all of our hard-working small business owners and employees.”

Saugatuck sweets is a candy, ice cream and dessert shop, Saugatuck Craft Butchery is a butcher and cafe that offers locally-raised meat and DownUnder is a new paddleboard and kayak rental and retail shop.
