Representative Himes to Talk to Y's Men
Representative Himes will talk to Y's Men of Westport/Weston on Thursday, November 12

Representative Jim Himes (D-4) will be the Y’s Men of Westport/Weston’s featured speaker at its November 12th meeting at the Congregational Church, at 245 Post Road East, Westport.
Himes is serving his fourth term in congress. He is a member of the House Committee on Financial Services, and is the ranking member of the NSA and Cybersecurity Subcommittee of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
Jim was born in Lima, Peru in 1966 to American parents, and spent his early years in Peru and Colombia. At the age of ten he moved with his mother and sisters to the United States.

He attended Harvard University, earned a Rhodes Scholarship and attended Oxford University, where he continued his studies of Latin America, including research in El Salvador.
Himes began his professional career at Goldman Sachs & Co., and left as a Vice President after 12 years.

He then ran the New York City branch of The Enterprise Community Partners, a nonprofit organization that led the financing of construction of thousands of affordable housing units in the New York metropolitan region — many of which employed energy efficient green technologies.
Himes served as a Commissioner of the Greenwich Housing Authority, where he came to chair the board and lead it through much needed reforms.
He will talk to the issues of the day, including perhaps cybersecurity, the recently passed highway funding bill and the impact of the Supreme Court’s declining to review an important insider trading appellate decision.
Jim, his wife Mary, and two daughters live in Greenwich.
