Saugatuck River Bridge Report Available Online

A Public Informational/Public Scoping Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, in Westport Town Hall.

The following press release about the state Rehabilitation Study Report for the Saugatuck River Bridge is from the Town of Westport:

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT DOT) informed Town officials today that the Rehabilitation Study Report (“RSR”) related to the Saugatuck River Bridge (State Bridge #01349), also known as the William F. Cribari Bridge, is now available on the CT DOT Website (www.ct.gov/dot/cribari-bridge).

First Selectman Marpe commented, “After initial review of the RSR, the DOT has identified two possible options to remediate the bridge: major rehabilitation and structure replacement. Per the report, ‘The lifecycle costs for both options are essentially the same and, as such, it is recommended that further in-depth studies of various bridge replacement alternatives be completed before any determinations can be made whether to rehabilitate the bridge or to replace it.’”
