Search Suspended For 2nd Missing Boater: Westport Police
The body of one of the missing boaters from Sunday was found Monday afternoon, three miles from where the fishing boat sank in Westport.
WESTPORT, CT — The search for the second of two missing boaters from Sunday in Westport has been suspended, Westport Police Lt. Eric Woods told Patch on Tuesday.
Authorities have not released the name of the second missing boater, who is from Suffern, New York, but Woods said the decision to end the search was made "after consultation with the U.S. Coast Guard."
On Monday afternoon, the body of 38-year-old Juan Gabriel Valle Pineda of Spring Valley, NY was found in waters three miles from where the small fishing boat sank that carried him and four other people.

Three of the five were rescued from waters near Westport's Cockenoe Island on Sunday, and all three were taken to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation. The sunken vessel, which had been anchored on the south side of the island, was found near nearby.
In addition to Westport police and the U.S. Coast Guard, Sunday and Monday's search also involved marine units from Fairfield and Norwalk police departments, and Bridgeport Fire Department. The Suffolk County, NY Air unit was also involved in the search.
