Serious Injuries Reported in 2-Vehicle Westport Crash
The accident occurred Saturday afternoon on the Post Road East, requiring the temporary closure of the road.
WESTPORT, CT - One of two drivers suffered serious injuries Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on the Post Road East in Westport, according to police.
The extent of the injuries was not disclosed, but the driver was taken to Norwalk Hospital following the 3:33 p.m. crash, which occurred near 980 Post Road East.
"Preliminary information at the scene of the accident was that one of the vehicles was exiting 980 Post Road East and collided with a vehicle traveling eastbound on the Post Road," police said in a statement.

Westport Police, Fire and EMS units responded to the scene, and both vehicles were heavily damaged. Police temporarily shutdown the Post Road while officers investigated.
The second driver declined further medical treatment at the scene.
