Sotheby's Auctioning Off Items From Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward
The auction is called, "A Life & Legacy: The Joanne Woodward & Paul Newman Collection."
WESTPORT, CT — Personal items, film memorabilia and a host of other keepsakes from celebrity couple — and former Westport residents — Joanne Woodward and the late Paul Newman are being auctioned off by Sotheby's this month.
Called "A Life & Legacy: The Joanne Woodward & Paul Newman Collection," the auction shows fans the personal lives of the two stars, who lived for years in the Coleytown section of Westport.
"The World of Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman draws back the curtains of the stars’ personal lives, unveiling a retrospective and intimate point of view of the couple’s thrilling, yet exclusive world that existed outside of the limelight," the collection's description reads.

In addition to their extensive acting careers, the couple — Woodward is 93, and Newman died in 2008 at the age of 83 — were also known for their philanthropic efforts.
"The collection includes mementos from their love story, including Joanne’s wedding dress," the description reads. "Other highlights include scripts, costumes and other film memorabilia, as well as keepsakes from the passions they held outside the acting world, like racing, ballet and philanthropy."
