Staples Baseball Falls To New Canaan, 8-7

Wreckers suffer second straight loss and slip to 9-2

The Staples baseball suffered its second straight loss, falling to improved New Canaan 8-7 in Westport.

Mikey Scott had three hits, including a solo homer, and two RBI for the Wreckers, who slipped to 9-2 overall and 8-2 in the FCIAC. Staples is now tied with McMahon for the league's second-best record behind undefeated St. Joseph.

Andrew Casali belted a three run home run for New Canaan (7-4, 7-3), which may have established itself as a legitimate contender in the FCIAC. Cameron Armstrong also drove in three runs for the Rams.
