After receiving a stern test in the first half, the top-seeded Staples girls lacrosse team pulled away in the second half to defeat Ridgefield 15-9 Friday in the FCIAC quarterfinals in Westport.
The Tigers played the Wreckers to a 7-7 tie in the first half, but Staples started the second half with eight straight goals.
Nikki Seo scored four goals and Adele Mackey, Jesse Ambrose and Maeve Flaherty each added three for the Wreckers (15-1), who face Darien in the semifinals on Monday.

The Blue Wave advanced with an 11-9 win over Fairfield Ludlowe on Friday.
Shauna Norris scored three goals and Melissa Galione added a pair for Ridgefield.
Caroline Odgen, Liana Mathias, Taylor Fischer and Eliza Marcus each scored once for the Tigers.
Maggie Philbin made seven saves in goal for Ridgefield, which has next week off as it prepares for the state tournament.
