The Staples boys tennis team won its showdown against Greenwich on Friday,   6-1, to improve to 10-0. Here are the results:

New Canaan 9, Staples 3

Baseball

New Canaan 8, Staples 7-- Mikey Scott had three hits, including a solo homer, and two RBI for the Wreckers, who dropped their second straight.

Girls lacrosse

Staples 15, Greenwich 12 -- Nikki Seo recorded four goals and three assists for the 9-0 Wreckers while Maeve Flaherty added three goals and three assists. Ali Croft also had three goals for Staples, which rallied from a 6-2 deficit to defeat the Cardinals for the first time in Cathy Schager's seven seasons as the Wreckers' coach.

SATURDAY'S SCHEDULE

Boys lacrosse

Staples 16, Stamford 6 -- Peter Paul and Joe Zelkowitz each registered a hat trick for the Wreckers.

Outdoor track

Staples captured the team title in the annual Dan O'Grady Relays at Danbury. The Wreckers posted a winning score of 68 1/3, edging runnerup and host Danbury (63 1/2).
