The field is set for the FCIAC boys lacrosse tournament, which begins on Saturday. Darien, which defeated Ridgefield 17-10 on Wednesday, is the No. 1 seed. The other top seeds are Greenwich, Ridgefield and New Canaan.

THURSDAY'S RESULTS

Softball

Fairfield Ludlowe 7, Staples 4 -- Caitlin Kane and Maggie Mills dove in two runs apiece for the Wreckers. Despite the loss, the Wreckers (9-8) stayed alive in the FCIAC playoff race as Wilton (10-7) and Fairfield Warde (10-7) also lost. Ludlowe won to improve to 9-8.

Baseball

Staples 10, Fairfield Ludlowe 6 -- Down to their final out, the Wreckers explode for six runs in the top of the seventh to erase a 6-4 deficit a secure a secure a home game in the quarterfinals of the FCIAC playoffs.  Ryan Burke belted  a two-run homer and Tyler Jacobs drilled a two-run triple in the the seventh.  Brian Terzian finished with three hits.

Boys tennis

Staples 6, Stamford 0

Girls golf

Staples 194, Danbury 211 ( Kim Hynes 49, Sarah Ressler 48, Christy Cantor 50, Erica Stein 48, Eliza Duvall 49)

Boys golf

Staples 138, New Canaan 149 -- Andrew Gai shot a 2-under par 33 for the Wreckers. Kirk Massie shot 34, Austin Alianiello 35, Conor Mahoney 36 and Brian Wolgast 38.

Staples 5, Greenwich 2: Alex Masielli had a two-run triple for the Wreckers

Baseball

Greenwich 5, Staples 4 -- Stephen Monick delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh to defeat the Wreckers.

Girls lacrosse

Staples 15, Ridgefield 9 -- Nikki Seo had four goals for the Wreckers.
