The Staples boys team finished second in the FCIAC outdoor track and field championship at Danbury on Tuesday while the girls place third.
The Staples boys amassed 95.50 points, trailing only Danbury, which captured its 11th consecutive title with 126 points. The Staples girls posted a score of 68.

The highlight of the meet for the Wreckers was the performance of sophomore Henry Wynne, who defeated Danbury's Alex Levine in the 1,600 meters. Wynne posted a winning time of 4:20.33, beat runn-up Levine by just under a second
(4:21.27).
In addition, Wynne had a second-place finish in the 800 meters (1:57.79), barely finishing behind New Canaan's Alex Spinu (1:57.42).

-- The Staples boys tennis team defeated Fairfield Ludlowe 4-0 Tuesday to advance to the FCIAC semifinals on Wednesday, when the Wreckers will host New Canaan.
