In a border battle, the Staples Wreckers boys lacrosse team defeated Weston 10-2 on Friday.
The game turned on a no-goal call at 10:46 of the second quarter when Weston captain Eddie Hutchins' apparent score was disallowed for use of an illegal stick.
At the time. it would have pulled the Trojans within 3-1 and possibly ignited Weston' offense. Instead it turned tide of the game in favor of Staples, which took a 5-1 lead at the half.

Staples was able to methodically work the ball through Weston’s physical defense and doubled the score by game's end.
Staples' attack was lead by Charlie Ross with three goals and Jake Frimet, who had a goal and three assists.

Weston goalie Alex Peyreigne, who battled an upset stomach during the game, made nine saves in the loss.
Staples improved to 12-3 while Weston dropped to 9-4.
