State Rep Candidate Brandi Briggs says Fixing Transportation Must be a Top Priority for CT

Improving transportation is a key issue that affects all of us. Fill out the transportation survey and let your voice be heard!

A recent report from the White House declared that Connecticut’s transportation infrastructure is among the worst in the nation. Among the key findings are:

  • 41% of Connecticut’s roads are in poor shape.
  • 35% of our bridges are structurally deficient.

An inferior transportation system has real consequences for Westporters and residents across the state:

  • It affects our quality of life.
  • It impacts our property values.
  • It restricts economic and job growth.

Poor roads and bridges and unreliable Metro-North service mean more traffic and congestion and longer commutes for workers. This makes Westport and other commuting towns a less desirable place to live. We cannot afford to lose jobs and see our home values decline because of mismanagement at the state level.

To fix our broken transportation system, we must protect the state’s Special Transportation Fund and prioritize our transportation spending on the roads, bridges and rails that are in the most need of upgrades and are most heavily used.

Transportation affects every one of us, and I want to hear from you on this important issue. As your next representative, I plan to be your voice in Hartford. I want to know your concerns so I can fight on your behalf. Please click on the link below and fill out my transportation survey so I can address the issues that directly impact you.
