State Suspends Medical License of Westport Physician
The doctor reportedly has been battling alcoholism.

Westport, CT - Dr. David S. Parnas, a Westport physician, recently had his medical license suspended by the state Medical Examining Board after he admitted to regulators that he had been drinking a pint of vodka per day for the past two years.
Kate Farrish of Connecticut Health I-Team reports that Parnas went to Norwalk Hospital for alcohol detoxification earlier this year, and entered another substance abuse rehabilitation facility in May. However, the board was not convinced that he has become sober.
Parnas' attorney told the board that his client has received positive work reports from his current employer, a New Canaan-based walk-in clinic, and Parnas regularly attends Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
