Reward Offered For Information On Westport Bank Robbery: VIDEO

Monday's robbery of a People's United Bank in the Westport Stop & Shop was the fourth robbery of a bank in a local Stop & Shop in a week.

WESTPORT, CT — A $1,500 reward has been offered for information that leads to the capture and conviction of the suspect or suspects involved in bank robbery spree over the past week in four Fairfield County communities.

The People's United Bank in the Post Road East Stop & Shop in Westport was robbed by a lone thief Monday, the fourth robbery of a People's United Bank in the area in a week. The other robberies occurred in Norwalk, Fairfield and Shelton.

Monday's robbery in Westport occurred at about 12:40 p.m. when the suspect passed a note to a teller, demanding money.

"No weapons were threatened or displayed in the commission of the crime," Westport police said in a statement. "The suspect did successfully obtain cash prior to leaving the scene in a waiting vehicle."

No other details were disclosed. Westport police are working with law enforcement agencies from the other three communities in the investigation.

Monday night, authorities released the video below of the suspect, or suspects, and the getaway vehicle.

"We ask that you please pay particular attention to the clothing, mannerisms, eyes and vehicle type of the pictured suspect," Westport police said.

In the Norwalk robbery, the People's United branch in the Main Avenue Stop & Shop was robbed Sept. 29; in the Fairfield heist, a branch of the same bank in the Kings Highway Cutoff Stop & Shop in Fairfield was robbed the next day.
