Tax Relief Applications Currently Being Accepted In Westport
Applications for the State and Local Tax Relief programs are being accepted in Westport as of Feb. 1.

WESTPORT, CT - The Assessor’s Office and the Human Services Department announced Monday that applications for the State and Local Tax Relief programs are being accepted as of Feb. 1.
The application deadlines are as follows, according to a release:
- Town and State Credit programs - Tuesday, May 15
- Town Deferral program for Real Estate - Friday, July 27
- Town Deferral program for Sewer - Thursday, Nov. 15
As in the past, all applications will be taken by appointment only. Prior to calling, taxpayers must have 2017 tax returns completed for both personal (Federal and Connecticut) and/or business along with a copy of the 2017 Social Security earnings statement.

If you have not received your 2017 Earnings Statement from Social Security you can call the toll-free number 1-800-772-1213 to obtain this benefit verification, and you should receive it in the mail within five to seven days. You may also obtain a copy by registering online at www.socialsecurity.gov/myaccount.

To set up an appointment with the Assessor’s Office after the 2017 tax return has been filed, call 203-341-1070. Those residents unable to come into the Town Hall may call Human Services at 203-341-1050 to schedule a home visit.
Note that all applicants must appear in person to file for tax relief.
