'Thinking About Westport's Future Downtown' Exhibit Opens at Town Library

"We hope that it will continue to spark ideas," said Melissa Kane, Chair of the Downtown Steering Committee.

An announcement on the Westport town government website:

In an effort coordinated with the Your Downtown public outreach campaign, the Westport Library has premiered a new exhibit entitled “Thinking About Westport’s Future Downtown.”

It is a visual representation, in the form of panels filled with quotes and “Word Clouds,” of the answers to questions from the Your Downtown Survey and comments made during the Your Downtown Visioning Workshops which took place earlier this summer.

The display is located in the Westport Library’s first-floor Riverwalk Hallway and on the staircase leading up to the main floor.

One set of panels is subtitled “Westporters’ Downtown Survey Results,” while the other is “Envisioning Downtown Westport.” The exhibit, which is free and open to the public, will continue through Sunday, Sept. 21.

“This exhibit continues the dialogue first started with the Downtown Survey and Visioning Workshops and gives people a chance to read for themselves the many great ideas and opinions gathered during those processes. We hope that it will continue to spark ideas in its visitors, which they will then share with us at the upcoming Charrette Weekend on Sept. 20-21,” said Melissa Kane, Chair of the Downtown Steering Committee.

Full Survey and Workshop results and analysis can be found on the town’s project website.
