WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Woman's Club will hold its annual Yankee Doodle Fair this week, and police advise drivers to expect traffic congestion and delays.

In a news release, Police Lt. Jillian Cabana said the event will take place Thursday and Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The event takes place at the Westport Woman's Club and in the Westport Municipal parking lot, both of which are located on Imperial Avenue.

According to Cabana, there is no parking on Thomas Road during the Yankee Doodle Fair. With the Slice of Saugatuck Festival also being held this weekend, drivers and residents are asked to expect traffic congestion and temporary delays.

Drivers are also asked to exercise caution while driving through the area due to increased pedestrian traffic, Cabana said, and to allow extra time to arrive at their destinations or seek alternate routes around the area wherever possible.
