Tree Maintenance to Temporarily Close Baron's South Property

The work is scheduled to begin later this month.

WESTPORT, CT — Tree maintenance at the town-owned Baron’s South property, located between Compo Road South and Imperial Avenue, will close the park to the public beginning Nov. 28, Parks and Recreation Director Jennifer Fava announced.

"To ensure the safety of residents, the entire Baron’s South property will be closed to the public during the initial phase of tree work which is expected to take place from November 28 through approximately December 6," Fava wrote in a statement.

The work was previously scheduled to begin on November 14.

The initial phase marks the beginning of the planned program to rehabilitate Baron’s South, a project that is expected to include walking trails and natural areas throughout the 22-acre property.

"The Parks and Recreation Department appreciates residents’ cooperation and patience as it works to enhance the open space," said Fava.
