Obi, who has been attracting the attention of Division I college scouts, scored 28 points, grabbed 19 rebounds and blocked three shots as GFA rolled in its season opener.
"I told the boys that they had a chance to play for a little history tonight," GFA coach Doug Scott said. "It’s a good feeling to get that done."

Sophomore Matt Tate, a transfer from Greenwich High School, started at point guard for GFA and handed out 10 assists.
Freshman Zach Baines came of the bench to block five shots and pulled down seven rebounds.
In addition, seventh-grade prodigy Tremont Waters and Hunter Eggers each chipped in with 11 points for the Dragons.
Scott also pointed to the defense of junior Patrick Ryan, a transfer from Darien who helped shut down St Luke’s big guns.
After building a 34-21 lead at the halftime, the Dragons allowed just 14 points in the second half.
"I wanted to win some games with defense this year," Scott said. " Holding them to 35 and allowing no Storm players to break double digits is a terrific way to start.”
Sean Cullinane was the leading scorer for St. Luke's (0-1) with just eight points.
GFA will be back in action on Thursday, when it seeks its first victory at Rye Country Day.
According to Scott, scouts from Stanford University will be in attendance to watch Obi play.
