Westport Absentee Ballots Available Next Week for CT Presidential Primaries
Whether Hillary, Donald, Bernie, Ted or John is your choice, make sure you exercise your right to vote in the Connecticut primary April 26.

WESTPORT, CT - Absentee ballots for the Democratic and Republican Presidential Preference Primaries will be available at the Town Clerk's office in Westport Town Hall beginning on Tuesday, April 5, announced Town Clerk Patricia Strauss.
The ballots will be available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The primaries will be held on April 26. Absentee ballots will be available through Monday, April 25, the day before the primary.
Application for a ballot may be requested in person at the Town Clerk’s office, which is located in Room 105 of Town Hall (110 Myrtle Ave., Westport) or by calling 203-341-1110. Additionally, the application form also is available to download online at www.westportct.gov.

According to Strauss, registered electors who are enrolled in a major party may qualify for an absentee ballot for the following reasons:
- Active service in the armed forces of the United States;
- Illness or physical disability;
- Religious tenets, which forbid secular activity on the day of the election;
- Duties as an election official at the polling place other than their own during all of the hours of voting;
- Absence from the town during all of the hours of voting.
