Westport Avenue Panera Bread in Norwalk to Close: Report

NORWALK, CT — The Panera Bread location in Norwalk on Westport Avenue is scheduled to close on Dec. 20, the chain's third Fairfield County restaurant to shut its doors in the last few weeks.

The Westport News reports that the Westport Avenue location had been there for 10 years, but corporate executives decided not to renew the lease.

Last month, Panera decided to close its Darien and Newtown locations, but so far is keeping locations on Route 7 in Norwalk, Westport, Fairfield, Milford, Derby and others, which will absorb employees from the Westport Avenue restaurant.
