Westport Conservation Commission To Review 4-Lot Subdivision, New Home Proposal

The commission is scheduled to hold the public hearing this week.

WESTPORT, CT — Westport's Conservation Commission is scheduled to review a proposed four-lot subdivision on Crescent Road and several other applications affecting wetlands and waterway protection areas during a public hearing Wednesday evening at Town Hall.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Auditorium of Westport Town Hall. The session will be conducted in person and will also be livestreamed and broadcast on Optimum Government Access Channel 79, subject to availability. Meeting materials can be viewed here.

Among the most significant items on the public hearing agenda is an application involving 41 Crescent Road, where LandTech, on behalf of property owners Aidan Hayes and Maeve O'Connor, is seeking review of a proposed four-lot subdivision. The matter is being referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission because regulated activities are proposed on the property.

Commission members are also scheduled to consider an application for 48 Cavalry Road, where Moon Gardens LLC, on behalf of property owners Gina Coryel Fant Simone Trust and Lynn Shari Fant Simon Trust, proposes construction of a new single-family residence, greenhouse and related site improvements. Portions of the project are located within upland review area setbacks and are subject to both inland wetlands and waterway protection review.

Other public hearing items include requests to amend official wetland boundary maps. At 3 Partrick Lane, applicant Robert Daly, representing Kara Curtis, is seeking to amend wetland boundary map B12. At 55-57 Greens Farms Road, attorney Timothy Hollister of Hinkley Allen, representing TC Greens Farms LLC, is requesting an amendment to wetland boundary map D06.

The commission is also expected to review a proposal at 15 Duck Pond Road to construct a swimming pool, retaining wall, patios and related equipment. According to the application, portions of the work would occur within the Waterway Protection Line Ordinance area associated with the Saugatuck River.

Following the public hearing, the commission's work session agenda includes receipt of new applications, approval of meeting minutes from May 20 and May 27, and consideration of a request for release of a bond associated with landscaping and plantings required under a previously approved permit at 2 Webb Road.
