Westport Fire Displaces 1, Red Cross Says
The fire was reported Tuesday on Compo Road South.
WESTPORT, CT — At least one person was displaced by a fire at a home on Compo Road South in Westport on Tuesday, according to the American Red Cross.
Details about the fire were not immediately available, but Westport police closed off the road Tuesday afternoon, after a downed tree took down power lines in the area.
"Those affected will connect with Red Cross caseworkers in the coming days to work on a longer-term recovery plan," Red Cross officials said in a statement about Tuesday's fire. "The Red Cross is able to provide assistance through the generosity of our donors and commitment of our volunteers."
