WESTPORT LAWYER SALLY OLDHAM TO LEAD DISCUSSION ON MEETING TODAY'S BEST INTEREST STANDARDS FOR CHILDREN IN FAMILY LAW
Ms. Oldham will address the latest research findings on psychological issues in family court matters

WESTPORT, CT, June 13, 2016 – The Westport-based law firm of Rutkin, Oldham & Griffin, LLC announced that Sarah “Sally” Oldham will moderate an important presentation among her peers on new psychological research in family law at the 2016 Connecticut Legal Conference on June 13 in Hartford, Connecticut. Connecticut Legal Conference is the largest annual gathering of legal professionals in the state. Ms. Oldham will discuss the latest research findings on psychological issues in family court matters and how to apply those findings in practice consistent with “best interests” standards for children. Her experience and insight in this area are not only extensive but also unique as she received a M.S. and 6th year degree in psychology from Southern Connecticut State College and worked as a school psychologist for eleven years before practicing law.
Ms. Oldham is a partner at Rutkin, Oldham & Griffin and represents clients in the negotiation and litigation of sophisticated, complex and high-asset family law matters. Her practice includes all areas of family law, including divorce, alimony, child support, property and asset division, child custody and post-judgment modifications and contempt. In addition, Ms. Oldham has substantial experience resolving challenging and emotionally charged relocation disputes. Her seminal advocacy in the case of Ireland v. Ireland redefined the rights of parents and children in relocation disputes.

Ms. Oldham is admitted to practice in Connecticut and the U.S. District Court, in the District of Connecticut. She is a Fellow in both the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Ms. Oldham is a member of the American Bar Association, the Fairfield County Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association, where she serves on the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section, a position she has held since 1993. She is a regular speaker on family law matters as well as a prolific author. Throughout her career, Ms. Oldham has been recognized by numerous rankings, including Best Lawyers in America; Super Lawyers; Ten Leaders in Matrimonial & Divorce Law in Connecticut; and Women Leaders in the Law.
