Westport Police Dept. Hosts Inaugural Awards Ceremony Jan. 29

The event will be held in the Auditorium in Westport Town Hall.

WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Police Department announced that it will host its inaugural awards ceremony at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29, in the Westport Town Hall’s auditorium on Myrtle Avenue.

"This special evening has been set aside to publicly recognize the commendable acts of our officers," department officials said. "The various awards to be presented are not new to the police department, but they have historically been awarded at private ceremonies taking place internally during various holidays and special events. We are excited to welcome the public we serve to join us in giving the recipients some much deserved recognition for their great work in the field."

Numerous officers are scheduled to receive honors during the short ceremony, which will feature remarks from Westport Police Chief Foti Koskinas and Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe.
