Westport Police Seize Gun After Man Threatens to Harm Self

The man reportedly threatened to harm himself with the gun. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

WESTPORT, CT- Westport Police seized a man's handgun after he threatened to harm himself with it Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to the area of Christies Garage on Cross Highway after a report was received. Traffic on area streets was briefly re-routed.

Officers made contact with the man and he was found unharmed. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation and his firearm was seized. The firearm was registered and owned by him.
