Westport Police Union Rejects Contract

Police overwhelmingly voted to reject the contract.

Those with fewer than 20 years of service would have seen pension benefits changed, according to Westport Now. Police had hoped changes would only affect new hires.

First Selectman Jim Marpe said he plans to meet with union leadership soon to reach an agreement.
