Westport Receives Tree From Sustainable CT

The Pacific Brilliance Oak tree and accompanying plaque were placed at Machamux Park.

City of Westport:First Selectman Jim Marpe, Tree Warden Bruce Lindsey, Director of Parks & Recreation Jen Fava, Operations Director Sara Harris and Sustainable Westport member Dawn Henry accepted the gift of one Pacific Brilliance Oak tree and accompanying plaque at Machamux Park on October 28. The tree and plaque was gifted to the Town of Westport from Sustainable CT in recognition of its sustainable community certification.

Westport is one of the first Connecticut municipalities to achieve certification as a Sustainable CT community. The town met high standards in a broad range of sustainability accomplishments to qualify for the prestigious Bronze Certification.
