Westport Resident And Physician In Line To Head FDA: Report
He served as a deputy FDA commissioner under President George W. Bush.

WESTPORT, CT — Physician Scott Gottlieb, a Westport resident, is President Donald Trump's choice to head the Food and Drug Administration, reports The Washington Post.
Gottlieb's possible selection was initially discussed in December. He is a former Stamford Hospital doctor and is a resident fellow at the public policy think tank the American Enterprise Institute. He also served as a deputy FDA commissioner under President George W. Bush.
The Post writes that Gottlieb "has deep ties to the pharmaceutical industry," and that he will likely take a pro-business approach to the agency.
