Westport RTM Heats Up During A/C Debate

Representative Town Meeting officials had a heated debate about installing air conditioning at Coleytown Elementary School.

In the end the RTM approved installing the $216,000 system by a vote of 30 to two with two abstentions, according to Westport Now.

The Board of Finance approved $290,000 of funding, but the amount was reduced due to lower bids.

Parents and others told stories of children becoming overheated and passing out at the school.
