As we all know by now, this morning’s accident on Interstate 95 in Norwalk had a significant impact on the morning commute. The issues related to this accident remain as local, state, and federal officials investigate the accident and potential damage to a highway overpass in the area. At a minimum we can expect delays with the afternoon commute. Please keep this in mind when waiting for the buses this afternoon and when transporting students via cars as well.

While this morning’s accident leaves many uncertainties with travel time, I do want to remind families of the First View Bus Tracking App which can assist in determining exact drop off times. For families not already utilizing the tracking app, please follow this link for access and instructions.

Finally, I want to thank our transportation provider, First Student, for all of their efforts getting our students safely to school this morning. They were on top of the travel issues long before buses started rolling and did incredible work navigating the clogged streets. I am sure they will handle this afternoon’s commute in a similar fashion.

Respectfully,
Thomas Scarice
Superintendent
