After needing overtime to hold off Mansfield (Mass.) 47-46 on Tuesday, the girls basketball team faces St. Joseph on Thursday in the championship game of the Notre Dame of Fairfield Appalachian Christmas tournament.
Tipoff is at 7 p.m. at Notre Dame. The contest is a clash of 5-1 teams who should for FCIAC playoff spots.

St. Joseph advanced with a 51-36 victory over Notre Dame, which will take on Mansfield in the consolation game at 5:15 p.m.
Jessica Coelho scored 18 points and Erica Stein added 14 for the Wreckers against Mansfield. Stein also made four 3-pointers.

Also on Thursday, the Staples boys, coming off a 57-56 loss to Weston, take on Newtown in the consolation game of the Ridgefield holiday tournament (6 p.m.). Staples dropped to 1-3 with Tuesday's loss.
