Westport, which was six outs away from beating Fairfield American on Monday, stayed alive in the District Two 12-year-old Little League tournament with a 10-3 win over Trumbull American on Tuesday.

Max Richlin and Mack Muller each went 2-for-4 with two singles and an RBI for Westport, which will face Fairfield National in the loser's bracket final on Friday. The winner of that game advances to Saturday's final against Fairfield American.

Westport lost to Fairfield American 12-5 on Monday but held a 5-4 lead entering the bottom of the fifth. 

On Tuesday, Westport broke open a 5-3 game with two runs in the sixth and three in the seventh.

The Westport 10-year-old baseball team begins play in the sectional tournament on Wednesday in Naugatuck against District Four champion Orange at 6 p.m.

On Thursday, Westport takes on district five champion Edgewood at Shelton National (8 p.m.).  On Saturday, it faces district tree champion Beacon Falls in Naugatuck. Westport concludes pool play on Monday against district one champion North Stamford in Naugatuck.
